Let’s Celebrate

Let’s Celebrate…November was a big month for GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo!

Programs were in full force and since reopening our doors on October 8, 2022, we had over 785+ program participation hours throughout 14 programs. It has been a true blessing to be back in a life-changing space to bring out the ‘Best of All’ in program participants and their families.

We are thankful to our supporters and our community (near and far) for supporting our mission, rebuilding the playhouse, and funding FREE programs for our families! We are so excited to launch into 2023 programs to promote dreams, boost self-confidence and esteem, and so much more!

We could not be here without our amazing Board of Managers and team who are mission forward in dreaming and executing those dreams to really bring out the ‘Best of All’ in all individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and our community.

November 1 – 6, 2022 members of the Fargo team and Board President attended GiGi’s Playhouse’s National Leadership Conference. This year’s conference was bittersweet as our team truly celebrated the last two years of hard work to not only rebuild and reopen the playhouse but continued to serve our families without skipping a beat through the processes.

GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo’s Executive Director opened Friday’s Leadership Conference with a message of how You Belong Here as well as partnered with Mark Hensrud from PACE Fundraising to do a breakout session on a Capital Campaign Success Story.

GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo was a Standard of Execution (SOE) Champion in 5 core functions earning ‘Strong’ or ‘Center of Excellence.’

GiGi’s Fargo also celebrated two major awards from our team:

  • Our Executive Director was recognized for the 2022 Core Value Champion: Get it Done. This award goes to a Playhouse staff member who blasts through barriers and stands out among their peers in the Playhouse network. We are truly blessed for the advocacy, dedication and passion Heather Lorenzen brings to the Fargo Playhouse. Congratulations Heather and thank you for changing the way the world views Down syndrome and promoting acceptance for all.
  • Kristin Nelsen received the 2022 Generation G award as a member of the National Educational Excellence Committee. Not only is Kristin the Founding Board President of GiGi’s Fargo, but she is also an active member of our Board of Managers and uses her expertise locally and nationally to educate, inspire, and believe in programs throughout our network. Congratulations Kristin for this achievement and for your dedication to empower all individuals with Down syndrome to be their ‘Best of All.’
