June 2025 at GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo: Growth, Joy & Community

As we reflect on the month of June, there’s only one word that truly captures it: extraordinary.
This month, GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo set a new record for participation hours and not just by a little. We absolutely blew our previous records out of the water! With 758 participant hours, 207 of those from individuals with Down syndrome, and a total of 171 unique participants, the numbers tell a powerful story: we are growing, thriving, and showing up stronger than ever.
To put it into perspective:
- June 2024 had 454 participant hours.
- This June? 758 participation hours.
- That’s a 67% increase in just one year!
And when we zoom out to look at the first half of 2025, it’s clear this growth is part of a larger momentum. Every month this year has built on the last, and that doesn’t happen by accident. It’s because of our incredible families, tireless volunteers, generous donors, and supportive community that we’re reaching new heights together.
Highlights from June

One of the most unforgettable moments this month was when both the NDSU Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams came to the Playhouse to host a basketball clinic for our participants and their families. The energy, the encouragement, and the smiles said it all. Watching our participants shoot hoops alongside collegiate athletes was pure magic and a beautiful reminder of the power of inclusion and connection. Click here to see even more!

We also welcomed families, friends, and volunteers to our Annual Family Picnic, where laughter and joy filled the air. It was a beautiful summer evening full of games, shared meals, and heartfelt moments. These gatherings remind us that GiGi’s is more than a place, it’s a community built on belonging, celebration, and love. Click here to see even more!
A Place That’s Truly Special
As I left both the basketball clinic and the family picnic, I was filled with pride and honestly, a little speechless. GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo is a special place. What we’re building here is more than programs. It’s connection. It’s empowerment. It’s a space where everyone belongs and where every person is seen for their potential.
If you haven’t yet experienced the magic of the Playhouse, consider this your invitation. Whether as a participant, a volunteer, or a donor… there’s a place for you here.
Let’s keep this momentum going and continue changing the way the world views Down syndrome, one smile, one high five, and one incredible moment at a time.
