May Reflection: A Month of Growth, Gratitude & Momentum
As we turn the page into summer, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what May meant for us at GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo—and we’re celebrating some truly incredible growth!
Last May, we recorded 221 participant hours. This May? 499 hours! That’s more than double—and nearly five times the hours we recorded in May 2022. Every hour represents a life impacted, a skill strengthened, and a connection deepened. This growth is a powerful testament to our amazing volunteers, families, and donors who make it all possible.
🌟 May Highlights
NDSU Dance Team Clinic
We were thrilled to host the NDSU Dance Team for a high-energy clinic with our participants! It was such a hit that we’re already planning to make it a regular event. One parent told us it was their favorite event we’ve ever hosted—we couldn’t agree more!
Open Play Pizza Party
We celebrated the end of spring programs with a pizza-filled Open Play party. It was a night of laughter, movement, and community—everything GiGi’s is about.

United Way Day of Action
We were proud to be one of over 20 local nonprofits participating in this community-wide event. Volunteers helped clean and organize our space and prepped materials for our Backpack Buddies and Math Buddies summer programs.
Community Tours & Connections
We welcomed new community partners like Thunder Coffee and Great Kids Therapy for tours of the Playhouse. We’re excited to explore new ways to work together to support our mission.
📣 What’s Ahead
May wasn’t just about reflecting—it was about gearing up for what’s next!
- 🏀 NDSU Men’s & Women’s Basketball Clinic – Coming June 11, our participants will hit the court with athletes from both teams for an inclusive basketball experience.
- ✨ New Summer Programs – We’re launching Zumba, Math Buddies, and a Gratitude Committee to keep minds and bodies moving.
- 🧺 Save the Date – Our Family Picnic returns Wednesday, June 25 from 5–7 PM—we hope to see you there!
- 🎭 Summer Outings – From mini golf at Thunder Road to catching Mamma Mia at Trollwood and a night at a RedHawks game, we’re bringing summer fun to life.
💛 Help Us Keep the Momentum Going
Every hour of progress at the Playhouse is powered by people like you. If you’ve ever considered getting involved, now is the perfect time.
👉 Volunteer with Us – Whether you have one hour a week or one day a month, you can make a difference in the life of someone with Down syndrome. No experience needed—just heart.
💛 Support Our Mission – Your donation, no matter the size, helps us continue offering free, purposeful programming to families in our community.
Because of your support, we’re not just growing—we’re thriving.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
