Flourishing through the Flames

On behalf of the Board of Managers, Executive Director and Team at GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo we want to say THANK YOU for your ongoing support as we are flourishing through the flames from losing our Playhouse on May 11, 2021. Over the last ten weeks our team and our community has supported us to find a new temporary location to meet our growing program needs to continue our life-enhancing programs to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Rise Together to Rebuild the Playhouse and celebrate accomplishments in July 2021:

• Launched our Capital Campaign: Rise Together
  • Four phase campaign launched to rebuild the playhouse
  • 15 core volunteers mobilized
  • Room sponsorship opportunities for rebuild being developed, stay tuned

• Community Events: Golfed FORE GiGi’s at the 6^th annual Golf Tournament at Moorhead Country Club. Archer Real Estate Services, Thomsen Homes & Guaranty Title Co hosted successful luncheon with over 250 community supporters with all proceeds benefiting the Rebuild.

• Received Grants towards the Rebuild and obtaining optimal learning resources to resume programs:
  • Cass County Electric Cooperative $10,000 towards GiGiFIT and Literacy Tutoring Programs
  • FM Area Foundation $7,500 towards general operating and program materials
  • The Barry Foundation PaY Grants: Davie’s High School $1,000 and Oak Grove $750 towards GiGiFIT and technology
• Celebrated numerous lemonade stands by our youth across the region and other various business events: Jeans Day, Pampered Chef Parties, shirt fundraisers and so much more! Thank you all for your efforts to help GiGi’s rebuild.

• Ikea Twin Cities and GiGi’s Playhouse Twin Cities donated furniture to resume more programs this fall. Numerous volunteers came together to set up the playhouse.

• Offered programs in our new temporary space: GiGiFIT Teen & Adult, LMNOP and Fantastic Friends, with more programs coming. Stay tuned.

Ten weeks post fire GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo has recorded 300 hours of program participation for individuals with Down syndrome and their families on a limited program schedule. Programs offered: LMNOP, Fantastic Friends, GiGiFIT Infant, Toddler, Teen and Adult.
