Influence & Impact: Essentia Health Hosts GiGi’s First Teddy Bear Clinic  

In our community we look to strengthen our partnerships and provide the best resources for our families. Essentia Health’s Pediatric team offered their talents to host GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo’s first Teddy Bear Clinic. The goal of this Clinic was to show kids that going to the doctor is fun and a safe place to visit.  

On August 17, 2023, the Teddy Bear Clinic provided care to over 11 stuffed animals, and their owners, in one hour, as they navigated the clinic at the Playhouse. Essentia Health provided their team of pediatric nurses, providers, and child life specialists to check each animals’ vital signs, take x-rays, administer shots, put on band aids, and explore medical equipment that they may experience on a routine visit. Each participant was provided with a checklist that was their chart and completed with a certificate of completion.
