Moving with Purpose: The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge

On June 5th, 2021 participants across Metro Detroit moved for acceptance in support of individuals with Down syndrome. The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge was designed to advocate for belonging and acceptance for all. It was a really special day.

Either from one’s backyard, the local park, or the Seaholm High School Track; family, friends, and teachers gathered to walk, run, jump, and squat for an amazing cause. The day was filled with lots of fellowship and fun for all involved. With over 20 teams and over 100 individuals, the event was a huge success.

The day consisted of two GiGiFIT program demonstrations led by Rachel who challenged all the participants to enjoy the beautiful sunny day and to move with purpose. In between programs, participants were able to walk the track, pet the Go Team Therapy Dogs, or savor a delicious GoGo Squeeze applesauce.

Back at GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit, the GiGiFIT Toddlers got in on the action and moved for acceptance too!

With the help and support of loved ones, donors and sponsors, GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit surpassed our goal of $25,000! We are so grateful to all those that participated and for all of the incredible people who donated to the MOVEment
