Pedaling with Purpose: How One Partnership Shifted Gears for Good

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we believe that partnerships should be rooted in more than just financial contributions they should reflect shared values, creativity, and a genuine desire to make a difference. That’s exactly what happened when Bob, the Business Development Manager at McMahon Services, gave us a call.

Bob had attended a business conference years ago that left a lasting impression—not because of the presentations or the panels, but because of a powerful, hands-on team-building activity. Attendees were invited to build bicycles from scratch, which were then gifted to children in need. The moment the kids received the bikes, joy filled the room. It was unforgettable. That experience stuck with Bob, and he knew he wanted to bring that same kind of purpose-driven energy to his team at McMahon.

So, Bob reached out to us with an idea: What if McMahon Services could organize a bike-building event, but this time, with bikes designed specifically for the children and young adults at GiGi’s Playhouse?

Bob and the GiGi’s Team

Not only did Bob and his team surprise their staff with a meaningful team-building exercise, they also went above and beyond to ensure the bikes and trikes would truly serve the needs of our community. They listened to what would help our participants thrive.

Some of the thoughtful touches they included:

  • Specially designed trikes for our teens to help build independence
  • Adaptive features for our younger children to support muscle development, balance, and coordination
  • Wider, more comfortable seats and baskets for ease and accessibility
  • Matching helmets and safety gear for every rider

And then, they didn’t just drop the bikes off, they delivered them to GiGi’s Playhouse with care and pride. The result? A vibrant, joyful gift that represents so much more than just a donation. It’s a symbol of what happens when businesses truly embrace inclusive, purposeful partnership.

We’re incredibly grateful to Bob and the entire team at McMahon Services for their passion, creativity, and commitment to making a difference for our families. These bikes will not only bring smiles, they’ll build confidence, strength, and independence.
