Why GiGi’s | Kaitie’s Story

We have an awesome start up committee that is working diligently to bring GiGi’s Playhouse Colorado Springs to our community. Let’s meet Kaitie, our start up committee lead, to find out “why GiGi’s?”

I first heard about GiGi’s Playhouse while I was still pregnant with Margot. She was our first child and we received a prenatal diagnosis. I was searching social media for encouragement on this unexpected journey when I stumbled upon an incredible nonprofit for people with Down syndrome.

I soon learned that GiGi’s Playhouse offers dozens of FREE therapeutic-based programs aimed at developing gross motor, fine motor, social, fitness, speech & life skills.

Seeing children and adults all in one place, laughing and learning together, got me excited for our future. That was a club I wanted to join!

I knew right then that I wanted to help start a GiGi’s playhouse in Colorado Springs.

But when the pandemic hit that dream was put on hold. The pandemic really showed us how crucial community is for our physical and mental health, and more than ever I wanted a brick-and-mortar space for our families to gather.

That dream is coming to fruition – We’ve been approved as a new startup for GiGi’s Playhouse!We are hoping to open in early 2025… but we need your help.
