Leaders of Language, Music, ‘n Our Peeps (LMNOP)

LMNOP Back With A BANG!

Language, Music, ‘n Our Peeps isn’t your typical music circle you might participate in at the library or community center. This program guides parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language based activities. LMNOP is led by two extremely gifted Speech-Language Pathology students. Amanda and Laura both jumped at the opportunity to lead this program. They always come well prepared to each program with a set of handouts, knowledge and experience from their college classes. Most importantly they have a huge heart and willingness to help where needed

Emma Laurash

Emma is from Cranbury, New Jersey and is spending time in Chicago going to school at Northwestern University. She would like to be a Speech-Language Pathologist after graduating and is getting lots of field experience at GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago! Emma started volunteering at our playhouse in February 2017 and volunteers for Speech and Language Group, she’s a leader for Kids Club and of course LMNOP. Emma and her classmates from Northwestern do a fantastic job with Kids Club. They have really taken it over and are responsible for its success! Thank you Emma for being so involved in GiGi’s Playhouse. We are so glad to have you a part of the GiGi’s Family!

Amanda Kruszewski

Emma and Amanda prepping for LMNOP

Amanda comes to us from Erie, Pennsylvania and is also in Chicago to go to school. She attends classes at Rush University. Amanda is putting to good use what she’s learning in the classroom to many of our programs at the playhouse. She jumped right into our Literacy tutoring program after attending orientation and training back in January of this year. She uses her knowledge of Speech-Language Pathology to help her students really say those letter sounds correctly. Amanda was also really interested in starting our LMNOP program back up. She and Emma have done a fantastic job planning and organizing this program! Amanda isn’t afraid to be a leader in group programs or our 1:1 tutoring always showing up early and well prepared. Thank you Amanda for volunteering so much of your time to GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago. We love that you’re a part of the GiGi’s Family!
