Meet Alison: Our LMNOP Leader Bringing Language, Music, and Joy to Little Learners!

If you’ve joined us on a Saturday morning for LMNOP (Language, Music, N’ Our Peeps) at GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago, chances are you’ve met Alison, our energetic and passionate program leader who fills the room with music, movement, and smiles!

Alison is a pediatric speech-language pathologist (SLP) who has been leading our LMNOP program for the past six years. For her, LMNOP is more than just a program, it’s one of her favorite parts of the month!

Each session, held once a month from 10–11 AM on Saturday mornings, welcomes children ages 6–36 months and their families to explore early communication through music, movement, and play. Together, families sing songs, share stories, and learn valuable strategies to support language development, like using gestures and signs, modeling sounds, and encouraging imitation.

“The power of music and social connection truly helps little ones learn and grow,” Alison shares.

Outside of GiGi’s, Alison continues to make a difference in children’s lives through her own speech-language pathology practice, where she supports kids with a range of developmental differences. She also co-leads an early childhood communication group called Chatterpillars, further showing her dedication to helping families build strong communication foundations from the very start.

We’re so grateful to have Alison as part of our GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago community. Her expertise, energy, and warmth help make LMNOP such a special and meaningful experience for our littlest participants and their families.

If you’d like to connect with Alison or learn more about LMNOP, you can reach her at AlisonKofkinSLP@gmail.com — and be sure to join us at our next LMNOP session to experience the magic firsthand!
