Great Times at the Gala!

The doors open to the banquet hall and immediately you’re greeted by the biggest smiles and high fives. Individuals with Down syndrome have lined the red carpet to greet all the guests as they make their way into the ballroom. A welcome like that is sure to remind you of why you’re all dressed up and attending this gala in the first place. Through generous donations, and actively spreading the message, we are changing the way the world views Down syndrome.

Vivica A. Fox, A Guest Host to Remember

Vivica did an amazing job captivating her audience with passion in her voice and conviction in her words. She spoke of the need to advocate for our population and the impact one can make on the life of another. She made sure to give a shout out to Nancy and GiGi for all of the incredible things they’ve done and how far GiGi’s Playhouse has come over the years. Vivica, thank you for keeping the spirits and energy high and continuing to spread the positive message now that the gala is done.

Art Explosion! At the Gala

In December of 2018, the beautiful pieces that the Art Explosion! students created went for up for sale at Gallery Victor. They did so well that GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago was able to purchase a tickets for them to attend the Gala. These participants not only work very hard in Art Explosion! but are regular participants in tutoring and other big events held at our playhouse. We loved seeing them get all dressed up and celebrated at the i have a Voice gala; hopefully we will be able to continue the art program with the same success this year.

A huge sincere thanks to all of the businesses who donated packages, gift certificates, and other valuable items to our auction. We were thrilled to put them on display and blessed to have so many to choose from. Of course, a BIG shout out goes to the donors. Thank you to everyone who has donated any amount to our playhouse. You help keep our programs free to the families who need them. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without your help. Thank you to all the behind the scenes staff and volunteers who helped make this night go as smoothly as it did! Many hours of preparation go into putting on a gala, but when we think about the population we’re fighting for, we know it will be worth it.
