Programs Happening this Winter & Spring

 

LMNOPLanguage Music N’ Our Peeps (LMNOP) is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication while using music and language- based activities. Recommended for ages pre-natal to 36 months.

 

GiGiFIT Infant: (formerly known as Crawlers & Walkers): Focuses on the development of gross and fine motor skills through activities that are hands-on and fun! Social skills and language development are also targeted, with focus on learning new words, following directions, and interacting with peers. Recommended for ages 0-4.

 

GiGi’s Kitchen Teen / Dance: This program provides structured dance instruction with a focus on learning and memorizing a routine and dancing in a group. This group aims to promote self-confidence. Following dance, cooking group provides a structured group that focuses on meal preparation and kitchen safety while learning to make healthy, tasty treats. Recommend for ages 13 and up.

 

Teen Tastic: This program focuses on building social skills with friends with and without Down syndrome by participating in team-based activities in a casual and fun setting. Teens will enjoy a fitness component for the first hour (dance, yoga, karate, HIIT, etc.) followed by social skills and team building activities that build self-confidence, self-efficacy, and social skills such as turn-taking, problem solving, and understanding compromise. Recommend for age 13 and up.

 

Yoga: This program promotes physical activity through yoga and other therapeutic based programming to support self-confidence, coordination, and body awareness. This class is taught by a group of young adults with Down syndrome who serve as mentors to the younger age groups.

 

Fantastic Friends: A fun purposeful and social gathering for adults with Down syndrome, their peers and the community. Supports the development of social skills and language through peer-to-peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. Recommended for adults 18+.
