GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago Launches a Month of Celebration, Learning, and Fun
It’s that time of year again — notebooks are open, pencils are sharpened, and GiGi’s tutoring and programming is back in full swing! This September we’re celebrating everything that makes our community shine — learning together, showing what we know, and lifting each other up with kindness and encouragement. And ice cream too!
We’re kicking off the school year with four weeks of fun, learning, and connection. Each week features a new theme and challenge that our tutor–tutee pairs can complete together:
- Week 1: Goal Getters – Kick off the month by setting a learning goal together! Whether it’s mastering multiplication or finishing a chapter book, write it down and celebrate the journey.
- Week 2: Dynamic Duos – Dress alike and twin with your tutor or tutee! Matching outfits, colors, or even accessories — show off your team spirit.
- Week 3: Show What You Know – Share something you’ve learned this month — from sight words to subtraction (and everything in between). Big or small, your progress matters!
- Week 4: Kindness Counts – Write a note of encouragement to another tutor, tutee, or friend. A few thoughtful words can make someone’s day brighter.
And to sweeten the deal, for every challenge completed, tutor–tutee pairs get an entry into our ice cream raffle!
Why We’re Doing This
This campaign is about more than just fun (although there will be plenty of that!) — it’s about celebrating the hard work of our learners and the dedication of our volunteers. It’s a chance to:
- Build community
- Spark joy in learning
- Remind us of the power of believing in one another
We also hope to rally behind the mission of GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago by encouraging families and friends to share, celebrate, and — if they’re able — support free programs all year long.
