Destination Discovery: Last Days of Summer

In August, GiGi’s Playhouse hosted a vibrant four-day program called Destination Discovery: Last Days of Summer for kids ages 6-12 and their siblings. From 9 AM to 1 PM, participants engaged in structured activities sprinkled with free time—perfect for those final days of summer.

Parents and caregivers remained on-site, with designated spaces to work, read, or relax while being available if needed. The program featured AbilityCycling, giving participants the opportunity to enjoy much-needed outdoor time as they explored bikes and tandems at their own pace. Each day also included a dance class by Maryland Ballet Theatre, followed by an energetic musical session with Bridgette Michaels.

One of the highlights was the creation of personalized All About Me books, which participants proudly took home to share with family and friends.

A special thank you to Audrey Lee from the Annapolis Arts Alliance, who served as our GiGi’s Program Lead and expertly coordinated this week-long event. We are deeply grateful to our Annapolis Playhouse community—volunteers, parents, and participants alike—whose energy and enthusiasm made this experience truly memorable.
