Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to become a part of your team! Email, Facebook, Tweet, and tell everyone on your list to build the biggest walking, running or dashing team that you can. Pride, determination and inspiration are the fuel for this event (with lots of love, laughter and tears mixed in). In 2012, more than 1,400 people from all ages and demographics participated in the 5k Fun Run and Buddy Walk. With the support of sponsors, runners, walkers and dashers, GiGi’s Playhouse is able to raise funds for our educational, therapeutic, and social programs as well as raise awareness and acceptance in our communities. GiGi’s Playhouse, Down syndrome awareness and education centers, opened in 2003 generating advocacy and acceptance globally for the Down syndrome community. Thousands of families are receiving free educational and therapeutic programs at Playhouses in 16 locations and counting.
Sponsorship Opportunities!
There are various opportunities to support GiGi’s Playhouse through event sponsorships. Supporters may sponsor teams directly, and corporations who value our mission can sponsor the event on various levels. GiGi’s Playhouse 5k & Buddy Walk event hosts over 1,400 participants and reaches over 3,000 supporters through e-mail and social media.
Corporate sponsorship benefits include, but are not limited to:
- Recognition on banners at start /finish line
- Logo in e-mails to GiGi’s Playhouse supporters

Volunteer Opportunities
We have numerous opportunities for all ages to volunteer at the GiGi’s 5k & Buddy Walk. Please register to be a volunteer by clicking here: GiGi’s 5k & Buddy Walk Volunteer Registration.
Registration
Included with your registration dated May 22 through August 10 you will receive entrance to the days event that you have registered for as well as your GiGi’s 5k/Buddy Walk t-shirt, activities, and lunch. Registrations received after August 11 will receive entrance to the days event that you registered for as well as a t-shirt (sizes not guaranteed), activities, and lunch.
Pre-Registration Pick Up
Check back in August to learn about when we will have Pre-Registration Pick Up for t-shirts, race bibs and information.
Day of Event
Throughout the morning you will find: crafts, face painting, games, merchandise sales, the ‘one million voices’ Gallery, characters walking around, music and lots of Fun and Friends! Lunch will be served after the Buddy Walk as well as a Kid’s Dash for Down syndrome will be held for children aged walking-12 years of age. This will be a Fun 40 yard Dash allowing children to show their support for Down syndrome Awareness.
