Stretch, Breathe, Celebrate: Life in Our Online Yoga Program

Since we launched our online programming back in 2020, our Online Yoga program has been a pillar of consistency and connection for families everywhere. Every week, no matter what’s going on in the world, our friends have been able to log on, stretch, breathe, and share a moment of peace. Fridays have become a special day for so many, and that’s largely thanks to our wonderful, certified Yoga instructor, Maggie. Her steady presence, encouragement, and warmth have created a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and part of something bigger.

Each class ends with a special “moment of peace,” where participants send good thoughts to someone or something that matters to them. It’s a quiet but powerful way to pause, reflect, and connect with what’s important. These small moments have become the heartbeat of our Online Yoga program, helping everyone leave class feeling calmer, happier, and more connected.

Recently, one of our friends, Noah, shared an extra-special moment with the group. He had just graduated from GiGiPrep at his local Playhouse in New York! Holding up his certificate with a huge smile, Noah radiated pride and joy—and even through our screens, we could feel it. Our whole program cheered, clapped, and celebrated alongside him. In that moment, the distance of being online didn’t matter at all. We were together, sharing in his accomplishment and his happiness.

Noah’s milestone was a perfect reminder of why this community matters so much. Online Yoga isn’t just about flexibility or mindfulness—it’s about connection, support, and celebration. It’s a place where children and adults with Down syndrome can grow, feel confident, and be part of a community that genuinely cares about them.

Maggie has been a steadfast leader every week, and her dedication has helped cultivate this wonderful community. Over the years, she has guided our friends with patience, humor, and positivity, creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable, valued, and included. Fridays have become something to look forward to—not just for the Yoga, but for the community, friendship, and shared joy that come along with it.

Noah’s graduation is also a reminder of the importance of celebrating achievements, big and small. From mastering a new pose to sharing a moment of peace with someone you love, every milestone counts. These celebrations help build confidence, strengthen connections, and create memories that stay with us long after the program ends.

As we reflect on the year and look back to when we first started our online programming in 2020, we are incredibly grateful for every participant who has joined us on this journey. Every class, every shared cheer, and every moment of peace is part of what makes this community so special. Whether it’s celebrating a milestone like Noah’s or simply taking a few minutes to breathe and stretch together, Online Yoga continues to bring joy and connection to families everywhere.

We’d love for you to experience it too. Our Online Yoga program is just one of many free programs we offer, all designed to bring connection, fun, and support right to your home. Take a class, join a community, and see how a little time online can bring a big boost of joy.

Congratulations again to Noah, and a huge thank you to Maggie and all of our friends from our online community for making every day so special. 🌟🧘‍♂️💛
