Reach out and get involved
We couldn’t serve families from all over the United States and abroad without our incredible volunteers. They show up every week ready and eager to serve our families and encourage our participants! Without them, we wouldn’t be able to have the incredible GiGi’s ripple effect happening all over the world.
Bryce was the program leader for Kid’s Club over the summer, a program that supports the development of social skills and language through peer-to-peer interaction in a casual and fun setting for 8 to 12-year-olds.
We asked her why she got involved with GiGi’s Virtual Playhouse and if she would recommend volunteering to others, and this is what she shared with us.
“I am currently in school to become a speech pathologist and thought it was important to reach out to my community and get more involved! I volunteered for GiGi’s Virtual Playhouse, the Kids Club program, every Wednesday. In this program we have themes every week, do fun crafts, and just have fun together!
When I am not volunteering with GiGi’s I am working at my local speech clinic, spending time with my family, volunteering at a local hospital, reading, or playing pickleball! I would 100% recommend volunteering to anyone! It is so rewarding and an amazing experience making a difference in these kids’ lives!” Bryce tells us.
Do you also want to get more involved with your community and change the lives of individuals with Down syndrome all over the world? We need YOU to continue to make a difference, so join our incredible volunteer team today! Learn more here.
We are looking forward to Bryce continuing to volunteer as the Fantastic Friends leader, an adult program, for GiGi’s Virtual Playhouse this Fall. We know there will be more laughter, joy, and best of all moments to come on this new program. Register now for our Fantastic Friends program happening on Fridays and come and meet Bryce for yourself!
