Group Programs

GiGi's Playhouse offers purposeful, progressive, therapeutic, educational, and social programs throughout the month and on the weekends. We are always in need of volunteers for all our amazing programs!

Virtual Group Program Leaders
The virtual program leader receives training on how to lead a GiGi’s program and creates lesson plans. The leader runs the program each week following the lesson plan and completes a post program report.

Virtual Program Greeter / Host
The host joins the virtual live program 10 minutes in advance, welcomes participants, & provides information and instructions. During the program the host manages the microphones & chat, encourages participants, and celebrates participant’s achievements/Best of All.

1-on-1 Tutoring

Interested in helping participants learn to read, learn number concepts, and develop literacy and math skills? Then our tutoring programs are perfect for you!  We have specific training for tutors which includes observation hours and continued support.  Help make a difference!

Literacy or Math Coordinator
The coordinator is a key volunteer that supports and oversees the GiGi’s Playhouse Literacy or Math Tutoring Program. This volunteer position received extensive training and requires a commitment of 5-12 hours per week for a minimum of one year.

Virtual 1:1 Literacy and Math Tutors
This is an exciting opportunity to help those with Down syndrome learn to read or do math skills! The time commitment per week is 1 hour plus prep time. We ask our tutors to commit to one session (10 weeks). You will work directly with the family of the participant you are tutoring to determine when you will meet for your session each week. No prior experience is needed, and all training and resources are provided.
