Welcome our New Intern Abbie!

Abbie and Izzy!

Meet our new intern Abbie Pacyga, who is studying Child Life and Family Studies, and minoring in ASL at Ball State University!

Abbie will be interning with us at GiGi’s Playhouse Tinley Park through December as she works towards her Family Studies credential. She will be assisting in programming around our Playhouse on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as volunteering as a tutor for our 1:1 Literacy & Math tutoring program session this fall! When she’s not at GiGi’s Playhouse, Abbie also works as a pre-school teacher for the Lemont Park District.

When I asked Abbie what she’s most looking forward to gaining from her internship, she said: “Meeting and working with children and adults with Down syndrome and their families. I don’t have a lot of experience working with people with Down syndrome, and I know it will be very valuable in my field”

So please, help us give a warm welcome to Abbie! We are very grateful for her support, and know she will be a great asset to our Playhouse.
