Team Feature: Meet Jaydon’s Troops!

On May 4th, 2024 our entire GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento community will come together for our GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge! This Family Fun Run will celebrate all we have to be proud of, connect our community and create a ripple effect of acceptance!

We have some awesome teams signed up to join us at Maidu Park- today we’re spotlighting Jaydon’s Troops!

Jaydon participates in a variety of programs at GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento and has a huge support system in his friends and family who join him at the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge every year!

We sat down with Nikki, Jaydon’s mom and captain of Jaydon’s Troops to find out more about their team!

Why GiGi’s Playhouse?

GiGi’s Playhouse is our safe space, our home away from home – a judgment-free zone, and a place where Jaydon can learn at his own pace. He cooks, cuts fruits and vegetables, and tries foods that he would never try for me at home. He LOVES all his friends and all the volunteers. He asks me every day after school if we are going to GiGi’s.

What do you love about the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge?

The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge is an event my family and I look forward to EVERY YEAR! I love that everyone comes together to spread love, kindness, acceptance, and joy! Jaydon gets his face painted, moves for acceptance with family and friends, and loves receiving a medal after he participates in the 21-yard dash for Down syndrome. This event is a BLAST from start to finish!

What’s your number one fundraising strategy?

My number one fundraising strategy is to BEG- Just kidding – I share how special and important GiGi’s Playhouse is with everyone on social media, in the community, and through email. I like to give personal little gifts to those who join our team as well. Jaydon loves to post/send a personal thank-you video to everyone who joins or donates to Jaydon’s Troops!

Thank you Nikki & the entire Jaydon’s Troops Team- we love having you as part of our event and can’t wait to Move For Acceptance with you on May 4th!!
