Home Run Connection
The Rockford Rivets is partnering with GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford to help raise funds and awareness. For the July 15th home game against the Kenosha Kingfish, we will be their nonprofit of the game. Their goal is to showcase and support local non-profit organizations, creating a deeper connection within our community. Our participants will get free admission, have a chance to run the bases, and throw out the first pitch.
We are so grateful to the Rivets organization for extending this opportunity to us. We talk all the time about the power and importance of community, and the Rivets organization has been incredibly helpful and accommodating. They are committed to supporting the work of non-profits in our area, and in turn, we want to help them be successful as well. At the Rockford Playhouse, one of our core values is being “locally concerned, but enterprise minded.” That means we think and act locally, but we are always cognizant of how that impacts the greater mission of improving the larger Playhouse network and our ability to create positive change for individuals with Down syndrome. The “locally concerned” mentality means we are always looking for ways to be part of the solution in our own community. While we are focused on our own success, we understand that contributing to the success of other local businesses and entities makes our community stronger. The stronger our region is, the more we have to offer the families we serve… and THAT is a good thing.
As supporters of GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford, we challenge each of you to think and act locally to make our community the best it can be. We all need each other, and the sooner we realize that, the more successful we will be!
