Best of All Moment: Growing Confidence at GiGi’s

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we believe that growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone, and Karla’s journey is a perfect example of that. Over the past few months, Karla has transformed from a quiet participant into an enthusiastic and confident member of our community. Her involvement in programs like Fantastic Friends and Achievers has helped her find her voice and feel comfortable engaging with others in new ways.

When Karla first joined Fantastic Friends, a social group designed to build relationships and foster independence, she was a bit shy, hanging back in group discussions and activities. However, with each session, Karla’s confidence started to blossom. She’s now one of the first to raise her hand to share during icebreakers, offering her thoughts and ideas. She eagerly participates in activities, from games to team-building exercises, and you can see her personality shining through more and more with each meeting.

One of the biggest milestones in Karla’s journey has been her participation in the Achievers program, which focuses on developing life and job skills for young adults. Through Achievers, Karla has not only learned practical skills but has also gained the confidence to take initiative. Whether it’s collaborating with her peers on group projects or practicing her job readiness skills, Karla consistently shows how much she’s grown. Her newfound self-assurance has also opened the door to deeper connections with both her peers and volunteers, and it’s truly heartwarming to see how she now steps up to help others when they need support.

Karla’s growth reminds us why we do what we do at GiGi’s Playhouse. It’s about creating a safe and empowering environment where individuals like Karla can feel seen, supported, and celebrated as they develop confidence and independence. Watching her come into her own has been inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll achieve next!

We’re so proud of Karla and all she has accomplished, and we look forward to continuing this journey of growth alongside her.
