Program Leader Spotlight: Jenny Matern

Jenny Matern has been with GiGi’s for a year as a member of the Young Professionals Board.  Jenny spent a year and a half working with children with Down Syndrome at Susan Gray School in 2010-2011 and fell in love with this sweet population.  From there she nannied for a family of a sweet boy with Down Syndrome for 6 years, as well as worked another year and a half working as a special education teacher assistant in Williamson County while finishing grad school. Jenny is now a licensed marriage and family therapist and registered play therapist with a private practice in downtown Franklin.  While she loves working with these individuals and families her heart still really wanted to give back to the Down Syndrome community.  Jenny felt there was a need for support for the entire family and had a passion to start the Super Sibs program here at the Nashville location.  Jenny currently lives in Brentwood with her two cats Joey and Chandler and dreams of someday being able to use them in therapy if they would only calm down and stop licking people without their permission!
