Volunteer Spotlight: Lynn Rekoske

At GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee, our volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do and few embody that spirit more wholeheartedly than Lynn Rekoske. For several years, Lynn has poured her time, passion, and kindness into our community, helping our participants grow, learn, and shine.

Lynn’s volunteer journey with GiGi’s began when she stepped in to lead our LMNOP (Language, Music ’N Our Peeps) program several years ago. With her warmth, patience, and talent for engaging even the littlest learners, Lynn created a welcoming space where families could build early communication skills and enjoy meaningful moments together.

Today, Lynn is a regular and committed literacy tutor, working one-on-one with participants to help them build confidence and essential reading skills. Week after week, she shows up with encouragement, creativity, and a genuine belief in each learner’s potential. Her dedication has helped shape success stories that continue to inspire us.

Lynn’s volunteer spirit is shared by her entire family. Her daughter Katelyn has been participating in GiGi’s Playhouse programs since we opened, and the Rekoske family has become a familiar, friendly presence at our fundraising events year after year. Whether it’s cheering, advocating, volunteering, or participating, they show up, always.

Beyond her work in the Playhouse, Lynn and Katelyn also recently represented GiGi’s Milwaukee at a local resource fair, helping connect more families to our free, purposeful programs. Their enthusiasm and deep knowledge of our mission make them wonderful ambassadors for the Playhouse.

We are incredibly grateful for Lynn’s years of service, her steady presence, and the love she continues to share with our community. Volunteers like Lynn strengthen our mission, brighten our programs, and make GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee the joyful, empowering place it is.
