Volunteer Spotlight: Literacy Tutor Diana F.

At GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee, our work is powered by the dedication of our volunteers. Anthony’s literacy tutor, Diana, has truly made a lasting impact since she began working with him in early fall 2025. Her genuine dedication and commitment shine through in every session. She shows up consistently, prepared, and fully invested in Anthony’s growth, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where he can continue to achieve. She is also deeply thoughtful in her approach, always putting care into planning lessons that meet Anthony where he is. When she’s unsure, she doesn’t hesitate to seek out advice and support from staff, demonstrating a strong commitment to doing what’s best for him. We are incredibly grateful for her and the care she brings to this role. Just as important, she maintains excellent communication with both Anthony’s family and our staff, ensuring everyone is aligned.

The consistency she brings is especially powerful. Having tutors who stay committed over time is truly life-changing for our participants, and Anthony’s progress is a perfect example of that. The growth we’ve seen in him since day one has been significant, and even more special is the bond they’ve built. Anthony clearly adores her, and that connection fuels his confidence and enthusiasm for learning. It’s a beautiful reminder of how meaningful relationships can drive real, lasting progress.
