Donors and community support – Help us help you!

This week, heck this summer has been a whirlwind! We have been so fortunate to have so many AMAZING people come through the Playhouse that support our mission and want to make a change about how the world views disabilities in our community. We have met so many new people just in the neighborhood that see our pictures and then come in to check out what is happening at our Playhouse. These neighbors have turned into volunteers, blood donors for our recent blood drive (we wanted to give back tot he community also), and potential collaborators in adult programming and internships. We LOVE each and everyone that comes into the Playhouse. We work hard to share our Playhouse with others and are thrilled when it pays off! Two new programs (coming this fall) have evolved out of Marquette Univerity and will include collaboration with students in the Physical Therapy and Speech and Language departments! Another new program, GiGiFIT Adult is thanks to a collaboration with Balance Fitness in Glendale!

GiGi’s Playhouse runs off of the kindness of others (donations and volunteerism) and lots of hard work. Donations and grants literally keep our doors open. There is so much that we want to do and with these gifts, we are able to create a wide variety of programs for babies, toddlers, kids, teens and adults with disabilities. Grants and donations go toward program materials, rent, staffing, and outreach in many cases. Without staff and a building, we would not have programs. Staff is necessary for outreach (social media and print media) to families and volunteers, training for the programs, and budgeting.  The building allows us to have a place to host these programs and a place where families can be accepted and use as a home base, a place to meet-up with others and a place to feel comfortable.

How can YOU help? Besides donations which are always needed and helpful, your voices are powerful too!

Share your stories and passion with others and us! What does your family enjoy doing at GiGi’s Playhouse? What are the best programs? What do we need to work on (constructive criticism is also helpful)? How has your child grown, what skills have they developed? Why is having a GiGi’s Playhouse in Milwaukee important to you/the community? Help us help you!
