Emily’s Best of All at the Teen and Adult Glow Party

Last month, Emily shined at our Teen and Adult Glow Party, singing all night long with her gold microphone. Her passion for singing was undeniable, but what made her performance truly extraordinary was the effort and determination behind every note.

For individuals with Down syndrome, singing isn’t just about having fun—it’s a challenge that requires incredible focus, muscle coordination, breath control, and concentration. Add to that the excitement and unpredictability of a party: meeting new friends, navigating a large group, and adapting to a new environment. Each of these elements can be overwhelming, but Emily faced them all with control and enthusiasm.

Her performance reminded us of the power of perseverance and the importance of creating inclusive spaces where everyone can shine. The glow party wasn’t just a celebration of music and fun; it was a celebration of all of our participants hard work, courage to try, and everyone’s desire to have some fun!

At GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee, we’re proud to provide opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome to thrive and showcase their Best of All. Thank you, Emily, for inspiring us all to glow a little brighter!
