Celebrating Ravaughn’s Inspiring Memoir

On January 25, we had the incredible honor of celebrating Ravaughn Williams, an adult participant at GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee and new author, at his book signing party. The event was filled with joy, pride, and a sense of community as Ravaughn shared his memoir, I AM HERE!: Living Life to My Fullest Potential… Celebrating Down Syndrome, with family, friends, peers, and supporters.

Ravaughn, along with his mother, Dawn, co-authored this inspiring memoir that chronicles his life journey—embracing his unique potential and living each day to the fullest. The book is a quick, powerful read that delves into his experiences, challenges, and triumphs as he navigates life with Down syndrome.

As Dawn shared with Fox 6 Milwaukee during the event, “The book talks about his experiences, his learning experience, and life experiences. The book tells it all.”

Ravaughn, full of excitement and confidence, told Fox 6, “I feel great because God has a plan for me, and I got a plan for him, too. I’m so excited for myself.”

We were thrilled to have Fox 6 Milwaukee at the event to highlight Ravaughn’s book signing and the impact of his story. Along with Fox 6’s coverage and our 70+ guests, Tim Boundy, the Board President for GiGi’s Playhouse National, and his wife, Kim—who is also a literacy tutor at GiGi’s Playhouse National in Hoffman Estates—attended the event to celebrate Ravaughn and his remarkable achievement.

Ravaughn’s ultimate goal is to sell 5,000 copies of I AM HERE! and achieve his dream of becoming a New York Times bestseller.
