Down syndrome Awareness Month

October is down syndrome awareness month! On October 5th, Layton Mayor, Joy Petro, signed a proclamation stating that Layton City recognizes October as Down syndrome awareness month!
With this proclamation, Mayor Petro also called out Gigi’s Playhouse, a Down syndrome achievement center in Layton. Carter Williams 14, a frequent playhouse visitor and members of their board were there to accept the signed proclamation.
Mayor Petro also stated that Gigi’s is an excellent place to volunteer that truly benefits the community. Gigi’s Playhouse is 99% volunteer run and offers programs and services, all free for people with Down syndrome and their families.
If you are interested in a rewarding volunteer experience, contact Gigi’s Playhouse at 801-784-7429 or email layton@gigisplayhouse.org
