Becky Payne - Site Coordinator
Becky has lived in Davis County most of her life. She helps run her families business, Payneless Floor Care and has been a Pampered Chef consultant for 10 years. She has been involved with PTA for several years and has served as President at her local school. She has five children, one boy and four girls. Becky loves to make a difference and be involved in the community.
Brittanie is a wife and a mother of 5 children. She has 2 girls and 3 boys. She owns Flippers Gymnastics and Flippers Tumble Bug preschool. She has always had a love for children with special needs, but that love grew so much with the birth of her third son, Linkon. He was born with Down syndrome. She is super excited to be a part of this community and watch how the expectations will grow and dreams come true!
John grew up in New York City, where at 18, he joined the United States Air Force and flew Rescue Helicopters in Viet Nam and as a Flight Instructor in the United States Air Force Helicopter Advanced Flight School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After 20 years in the Air Force, and needing a change, he became a Professional Coin Dealer, and spent 27 years owning and operating 2 coin stores in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, all while completing his Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe. He retired in 2007, and moved back to Utah where his wife is from and to be close to family. John is the Grandfather of Lincoln AKA Buddha, who has Down Syndrome, and is the son of Kim Strube. John is very dedicated to helping his best friend Lincoln in any way he can, and to make GiGi's Playhouse in Layton a success.
Alex Harris- Secretary
Alex is 22 years old. She is the gym manager and Preschool teacher at Flippers Gymnastics and Cheer. She loves working with children, especially children with Down syndrome. Her little brother Linkon was born with Down syndrome. He has been a huge blessing in her life, and he is the reason she got involved with GiGi’s Playhouse.
Michelle Roberts is the mother of 9 children, that being said she is a busy mom and wife. She is a PE specialist for an elementary school in Davis county, she also works with children in her church. Although she does not have a child with down syndrome she feels very strongly about helping bring awareness to the non-down syndrome community. She loves to help out where she can especially on the gratitude committee.
Shilo Weaver – President-Elect
Shilo is a wife and mother of 4. Shilo is an Executive Banking Relationship Manager at Zions Bank, where she has worked for over 26 years. She's an active member in her community and business world, serving and leading on a number of boards and non-profit organizations. Shilo's smart and sassy 17-year-old daughter, Kylee, has Down Syndrome. Shilo loves the Down Syndrome community and is thrilled to share her experiences and the greatness of an extra chromosome with others.
Amanda grew up in Layton, UT and currently lives with her 6 year old daughter, Isabella. She recently decided to become a Branch Manager for Mountain America Credit Union, where she can assure quality and excellent Member service. Passionate about helping her community, Gigi’s Playhouse seemed like a natural fit! In her free time, Amanda loves to be with her family, enjoys cooking and baking, hiking and the sunshine!
Kim is known best as a wife, mom, and pharmacist. She keeps busy with Lincoln, Kjirsten, and Eli but still finds time to watch Arizona basketball. She helped start this project to ensure Lincoln had everything he needs to succeed in life. She is excited to help so many other families in this community.
Leslie is a wife and mother of four children. She owns Under the Sun Crafts, and enjoys sharing and making all things crafty. It was her love of children and teaching crafts that brought her to GiGi’s Playhouse. Also the love of her friend and her little boy! She is truly excited to be a part of this community and help teach and share her love for arts and crafts.
Melanie is a wife and mother to four children. Melanie has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Weber State and spent 16 years as a territory manager for Henry Schein Dental. Her second son Remington “Remy” has Down syndrome. Melanie has volunteered with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Special Olympics. She is thrilled to be involved in GiGi’s Playhouse.
Alisha has lived in Davis County for ten plus years, with her husband and two children. She has coached recreational and competitive girls’ softball, and she loves to help with all youth sports. She is currently employed with LSI Inc., where she works with youth ages 14 to 21 with learning disabilities, and is part of the community development team.
Grimely is married to Dr. Jeffery DeGrauw and resides with their five children in South Ogden. She is the Vice President of Pricing at Logistics Specialties Inc. Grimely was born and raised in Puerto Rico. In 2005 Grimely successfully completed her Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting, from the University of Phoenix. Grimely has always demonstrated a deep love and dedication to helping in her community
