Becky Payne - Site Coordinator
Becky has lived in Davis County most of her life. She helps run her families business, Payneless Floor Care and has been a Pampered Chef consultant for 10 years. She has been involved with PTA for several years and has served as President at her local school. She has five children, one boy and four girls. Becky loves to make a difference and be involved in the community.
Nancy Bushell-Program Coordinator
Nancy Bushell grew up a California girl, moving across the United States to Virginia and back. She spent 5 of her younger years experiencing the beauty of New Zealand. Her parents chose Ogden, Utah as her final destination. She instead chose Phoenix, Arizona. She meet and married the father of her six children. Tressa, her youngest and the light of all whom she meets has Down syndrome. Nancy moved back to Utah in 2010 completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Psychology at the University of Phoenix. She meet and married the love of her life, Paul, and together with his 4 children, rounded out their family of 9 boys and 1 girl. She loves to read, write, sky dive, hike, and play games and water sports with her family and friends. Nancy is co-owner of Poppy Lane Distinct Décor and Program Coordinator of GiGi’s Playhouse, Layton, Utah.
Brittanie is a wife and a mother of 5 children. She has 2 girls and 3 boys. She owns Flippers Gymnastics and Flippers Tumble Bug preschool. She has always had a love for children with special needs, but that love grew so much with the birth of her third son, Linkon. He was born with Down syndrome. She is super excited to be a part of this community and watch how the expectations will grow and dreams come true!
John grew up in New York City, where at 18, he joined the United States Air Force and flew Rescue Helicopters in Viet Nam and as a Flight Instructor in the United States Air Force Helicopter Advanced Flight School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After 20 years in the Air Force, and needing a change, he became a Professional Coin Dealer, and spent 27 years owning and operating 2 coin stores in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, all while completing his Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe. He retired in 2007, and moved back to Utah where his wife is from and to be close to family. John is the Grandfather of Lincoln AKA Buddha, who has Down Syndrome, and is the son of Kim Strube. John is very dedicated to helping his best friend Lincoln in any way he can, and to make GiGi's Playhouse in Layton a success.
Alex Harris- Secretary
Alex is 22 years old. She is the gym manager and Preschool teacher at Flippers Gymnastics and Cheer. She loves working with children, especially children with Down syndrome. Her little brother Linkon was born with Down syndrome. He has been a huge blessing in her life, and he is the reason she got involved with GiGi’s Playhouse.
Michelle Roberts is the mother of 9 children, that being said she is a busy mom and wife. She is a PE specialist for an elementary school in Davis county, she also works with children in her church. Although she does not have a child with down syndrome she feels very strongly about helping bring awareness to the non-down syndrome community. She loves to help out where she can especially on the gratitude committee.
Kim is known best as a wife, mom, and pharmacist. She keeps busy with Lincoln, Kjirsten, and Eli but still finds time to watch Arizona basketball. She helped start this project to ensure Lincoln had everything he needs to succeed in life. She is excited to help so many other families in this community.
Leslie is a wife and mother of four children. She owns Under the Sun Crafts, and enjoys sharing and making all things crafty. It was her love of children and teaching crafts that brought her to GiGi’s Playhouse. Also the love of her friend and her little boy! She is truly excited to be a part of this community and help teach and share her love for arts and crafts.
Melanie is a wife and mother to four children. Melanie has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Weber State and spent 16 years as a territory manager for Henry Schein Dental. Her second son Remington “Remy” has Down syndrome. Melanie has volunteered with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Special Olympics. She is thrilled to be involved in GiGi’s Playhouse.
Michelle Cottle moved to the Layton area in 2000. Michelle enjoyed a great childhood in Rock Springs, Wyoming and obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Wyoming. In addition, she has attained an MBA to further her education. Michelle has always been social and relished a career full of fast, upscale environments. She currently is excelling at a high profile position at Hill AFB. Passionate about children, Michelle became a mother to her daughter, Scarlett, at a late age and absolutely loves being a mom. Michelle has always been an advocate for children with disabilities and is excited to be on the board. Michelle loves to work in her yard and ensures she and Scarlet spend plenty of quality time with family and friends.
