Volunteer Spotlight: Robert’s Journey of Service and Joy at GiGi’s Playhouse Houston
At GiGi’s Playhouse Houston, we are proud to be a place where passion meets purpose—and few exemplify that better than our volunteer Robert.
Robert is a retired educator who dedicated over 40 years to teaching and school leadership—eight as a teacher and twenty-five as a principal. Even in retirement, his commitment to helping others has never slowed. For the past 12 years, Robert has continued giving back through volunteer work, including time at a community health clinic, a women’s recovery center, and by teaching parenting classes.
For the past eight months, Robert has been a cherished member of the GiGi’s Playhouse Houston family. Volunteering during our adult programs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays—and occasionally joining us on Saturdays for children’s programs like LMNOP—Robert brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and creativity to every session.
“Getting to know these wonderful participants is a continuous blessing,” Robert shared. “The days I am at the Playhouse give me so much enjoyment and love. I am always excited to plan new and exciting activities to share together.”
As a former principal who often oversaw special education programs, Robert’s deep understanding of inclusive learning environments enriches the experience for our participants. His energy, dedication, and joyful spirit have made a lasting impact on our community.
Thank you, Robert, for the joy you bring and the love you share. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our GiGi’s Playhouse Houston family.
