Why I MOVE for Acceptance
It’s no secret that I love being an advocate for the Down syndrome community. So when an event like the GiGiFit Acceptance Challenge comes along, I give it 110% of myself, both personally and professionally.
I am not moving for acceptance just because I work for GiGi’s Playhouse. I move for my niece Zhara, I move for my friends at the Playhouse, I move for every baby who will be born rocking that extra chromosome. Every year around 6,000 babies are born with Down syndrome, and they deserve to be born into a world that accepts them and see them for the capable person they were born to be, not a diagnosis.
The GiGiFit Acceptance Challenge Field Day is first and foremost an event to promote acceptance for all. It is not limited to just individuals with Down syndrome; anyone is welcome to join us for a fun-filled day that includes a water balloon toss, ring toss, hula hooping, kick ball, the chance to PIE me and our board president in the face, and so much more!!!
Please join me in a global MOVEment for acceptance, stand with me (virtually or in person) on Saturday, June 5 and tell my loved ones you accept them for who they are! Sign up online https://support.gigisplayhouse.org/gigifit-acceptance-challenge/event/hillsborough-field-day.
No donation is too small, every bit helps, but know that the overall goal of the GiGiFit Acceptance Challenge is have a million people worldwide say I accept you and I will fight for you!
