Megan LaBuda is thrilled to serve on the board for GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough. Megan has worked directly with children and adults with special needs for over 16 years. She also worked for the Department of Children and Families of New Jersey as a case manager and adoption specialist. Her positive experiences in working with people with special needs proved to be most valuable when she found out her daughter Penelope had Down syndrome. Megan and her husband, Nathan, are truly excited for GiGi’s Playhouse to have an important impact on Penelope’s life, and the lives of their son Sam and daughter Cecilia. GiGi’s Playhouse will be able to teach them the importance of being kind and compassionate to everyone!
Colin lives in Branchburg, with his wife Jessica and two sons, Liam and Henry. Henry, Colin’s youngest son, has Down syndrome. Colin has spent the last 12 years in financial services, and now works in the Legal and Compliance Division within Morgan Stanley. He’s excited to help grow GiGi’s Playhouse to provide benefits not only to Henry, but also to Liam and the rest of the family as well.

Erin Morris lives in Hillsborough with her husband and four children. Her youngest son Ben has Down syndrome. Erin has past experience in non-profit Event Planning, Business Development and Sales. She has long been involved volunteering and advocating for individuals with special needs. Erin is very excited about all of the wonderful programs and opportunities that GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough will offer her son, Ben, and all individuals with Down syndrome and their families in Central New Jersey.
Jennifer Strahan lives in Cranford with her husband Pete and their two children, Jessica and PJ. Jennifer’s daughter Jessica has Down syndrome and has been attending programs at GiGi’s Playhouse since it opened. Jennifer is a Budget Analyst who has been working in higher education for 9+ years. She is excited to join the GiGi’s team as it has been an invaluable resource to her family in raising Jessica and making PJ an understanding, kind and compassionate person. She wants to assist GiGi’s Playhouse as it continues to grow and expand in the future.
Jennifer has spent over 25 years as an administrator in the field of human services and facility management. She has directed residential, vocational and behavioral services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health concerns. She has worked with non-profits, schools and government operations, assisting individuals and their families to co-exist with their community. As a licensed vocational rehabilitation counselor in Virginia, Jennifer facilitated grant programs working with adults and youth transitioning into supported employment, and presenting grant findings at national conferences. Jennifer has been with The Arc of Somerset County since 2007 and has focused on Early Intervention, parent education, and early childhood programs including daycare, preschool and therapeutic classes for children with disabilities.
Christy brings to GiGi's Playhouse a 24-year background as a professional writer in various capacities, including her roles as professional resume writer and corporate communications manager. Christy believes that finding the Playhouse was meant to be (all because her sons needed service hours for Boy Scouts), and she looks forward to doing all that she can to advance the GiGi's mission and contribute to the success of the Hillsborough location. Residing in Branchburg with her husband and four boys, Christy is also the program leader for Teen Tastic.
Daniel currently lives in Branchburg with his girlfriend Michelle, their dog Hunter, and two cats Moo and Hubert. Daniel and Michelle have been involved with GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough since its inception and believe in the mission of the center whole heartedly. Daniel is a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley and currently works in the Morristown area. His goal for being a member of the board is to help GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough continue to grow in order to inspire more people, educate more families, and effectively disseminate the message of acceptance for all.
Liz Kepniss comes to GiGi’s Playhouse with a background in public relations, as well as early childhood education. A graduate of Rowan University, she lives in Clinton Township and says that being an aunt to her four nieces and one nephew is one of the greatest joys in her life. Liz is excited to be part of the GiGi’s Hillsborough team and cannot wait to see what the future holds for the playhouse.
Caryn comes to GiGi’s Playhouse as an intern, with the intention of one day being the Assistant Site Coordinator. A literacy tutor at the Playhouse, she is also attending Raritan Valley Community College.
Chris enjoys sports, movies, and music. He participates in Special Olympics Bowling, softball, basketball and snow shoeing. He works at TJ Maxx and is an intern at GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough. He attends the programs Friday Friends and TEAM, where he has a blast with his old friends and is enjoying making new ones there. He attends Therapeutic Rec programs and dances at Chez Renee.
