Healthy Eats with Sweet Rewards

Are you finding yourself looking for a fast and healthy food option? Luckily, GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar is now open and ready to help you on your journey to a healthier you!

GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar is the first of its kind and opened its doors on December 17, 2018. It is the latest addition to the Career Development programs that are offered at GiGi’s Playhouse Fort Wayne. After graduating the progressive adult education program, GiGi University, individuals enter into an internship at the health bar.

GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar specializes in smoothies, wraps, sandwiches and build your own salads. Coffee, tea and bottled beverages are also available. Many menu items can be made gluten free and accommodate other food allergies and dietary restrictions. The vision for the health bar is to eliminate barriers so that individuals with disabilities can develop their skill set and explore employment opportunities. Learning opportunities include customer service, independence, career training, community integration, building self-confidence, teamwork, promoting acceptance in the community by developing social, interpersonal and occupational skills.  GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar is the first restaurant in Fort Wayne to be run by individuals with Down syndrome.

The health bar is located within GiGi’s Playhouse Fort Wayne and the current hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. All revenue from the store goes toward supporting the FREE educational and therapeutic programs at GiGi’s Playhouse Fort Wayne. We encourage you to stop in and enjoy healthy eats with sweet rewards!
