Executive Director

Founded in 2003, GiGi’s Playhouse Inc.’s mission is to increase positive awareness of Down syndrome through national campaigns, educational programs, and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. Our Fort Wayne Playhouse has been opened since 2016.

The Executive Director is a goal-oriented conscientious individual who manages and directs the local Playhouse towards its primary objectives.  The Executive Director is the face of GiGi’s Playhouse and plays an essential role representing GiGi’s to families, volunteers, donors and community members. The Executive Director will be actively involved in development/fundraising activities to build a strong community presence and local donations through donor outreach, developing media contacts, and other related activities.  Determine and formulate policies and provide overall direction of the Playhouse within guidelines set up by the Board of Managers.  Plan, direct, or coordinate operational activities at the highest level of management with the help of other staff and volunteers. As a representative of GiGi’s Playhouse, the Executive Director must display a pleasant and professional personal presence, including an exceptional disposition to interact directly with individuals with Down syndrome and their families. This full-time salaried position also provides benefits including but not limited to health, medical, pharmacy and 401K retirement planning.
