Catering With a Purpose

GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar was busy catering with a purpose on World Down Syndrome Day! Playhouse Ambassadors kicked off the day with prepping cookie and pinwheel platters for our friends from Fort Financial and Indiana ABA Institute! Rolling the tortillas and then cutting the pinwheels is such a great fine motor task that keeps our Playhouse Ambassadors’ fingers nimble.

Then, Playhouse Ambassadors delivered box lunches to the special education teachers at Holland Elementary School! Boxed lunches come with a variety options, which you can learn more about here. The catering fun didn’t stop there! Playhouse Ambassadors have been having a great experience prepping and serving school lunch to the students at Saint Peter-Immanuel Lutheran School. Two days a week, Playhouse Ambassadors are interacting, serving, and having a lot of fun working on career skills in a different setting.

On World Down Syndrome Day, the Genesis Health Bar crew showed up to a cafeteria full of friendly faces wearing blue and yellow, the colors of Down syndrome awareness. However, that’s not all. Students colored a paper ribbon with blue and yellow and donned them proudly. Talk about seeing our mission in action!

Choosing Genesis Health Bar for catering needs not only provides tasty eats and delicious treats, you are also providing individuals an opportunity to work on career, independent living, motor, and social skills. All proceeds from GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar go toward supporting the free programs at GiGi’s Playhouse Fort Wayne. Next time you need catering, choose catering with a purpose.
