Lindsey’s Why

The wonderful Muscha family!

When my daughter, Braelyn was born, one of my many google searches turned up GiGi’s Playhouse.   But the closest location was in the cities. Fast-forward a few years – I got an email from a local support group that they were having a meeting to discuss possibly opening a GiGi’s Playhouse in Fargo. I attended the meeting and knew this was something I wanted to be a part of, and I was so thankful we

had such strong leaders in Fargo to start this process. I joined the start-up committee and visited the location in Hoffman Estates, Ohio that fall. I was brought to tears when I stepped foot in the doors. It was amazing. It gave me hope for my daughter’s future. Most important it gave me drive to know no matter how much work, or time it was going to take, we were going to make this happen – and we did.
I continue to be part of the GiGi’s family and serve on the board. My hope is that new parents, in their google searches, now can see this place is local and within reach. They can attend the programs and see local kids and adults in their

community and become part of the GiGi’s family. My daughter attends the programs, family events, and benefits from the one-to-one literacy tutoring. I get to see her flourish from a literacy program designed for the learner with Down syndrome that is only available at GiGi’s Playhouse.

Remember to think of GiGi’s Playhouse on February 9th and make a donation in honor of Giving Heart’s Day!
