A Note from our Executive Director: Gratitude and Celebrations
As I reflect on September, it’s hard to put into words the depth of gratitude I feel for the continued generosity and support our community shows toward GiGi’s Playhouse and our mission. In just the last three months, we’ve seen over 138% program growth, and our aim is clear—we are positioning ourselves not only as the Down syndrome experts in Fargo but across North Dakota and the surrounding region.
With this tremendous growth, our dreams are becoming a reality. Major funders believe in GiGi’s on the Go, a program dedicated to creating inclusion for the next generation. Thanks to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation SPARK grant, we will expand our programs and resources to rural communities. This grant will allow us to provide duplicate supplies, train volunteers, and run programs in Oakes and Grand Forks, ensuring that GiGi’s Playhouse impacts more lives across our state.
GiGi’s on the Go is about more than just programs—it’s about fostering a culture of acceptance and inclusion across North Dakota. We are honored to partner with BCBSND Caring Foundation, which will bring this vision to life in 2025. Additionally, we are incredibly grateful from another partner FM Area Foundation, which believes in this mission. Their funding will help us provide essential resources to educators and professionals, empowering our region with the best possible support systems for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
Thank you for continuing to stand by our sides as we make these dreams a reality. As we head into Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October, I look forward to celebrating by spreading kindness and acceptance throughout our community. I hope to see you at the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge Family Festival, where we can come together and grow – one diagnosis, one family, and one community at a time.
Always Advocating!
