PJ’s “Best of All”

With over 230 program hours logged, PJ is no stranger to GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit.

He has participated in LMNOP, Kids Club, Playhouse Pals, Open Play, Literacy tutoring, Math tutoring, Special Olympics: Young Athletes, all of our events, and now that he’s a teenager, Teen Tastic!

PJ comes to the Playhouse excited to see and spend time with others, but often participates by just observing his peers. During the last Teen Tastic, however, PJ jumped right in and joined the activities, which is why we’re celebrating his #BestOfAll!

Lisa, PJ’s mom shared, “Today he was actually participating and practicing flag football. He ran through all the drills and then wanted to keep playing when it was done!”

Hooray for PJ, moving along with the group and finding your spark in the program! Check out that ear-to-ear grin!

We’ve had a football theme in Teen Tastic and Kids Club recently, because of our upcoming Flag Football Jamboree in partnership with Playworks and the Detroit Lions Foundation! On March 15th, athletes from GiGi’s Playhouse, ages 8 – 12, will practice flag football drills and other games at Ford Field where the Lions play! We are all so excited for this event, especially PJ!
