Play is Purposeful!

Open Play at GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit

We’ve all heard “It takes a village to raise a child”, well we’ve got your village right here at GiGi’s Playhouse! Kids of all ages learn from play and interacting with their peers. Open Play is a fantastic opportunity to learn from friends important lessons in communication, sharing, and teamwork, while strengthening our gross and fine motor skills with friends. Individuals with Down syndrome aren’t the only participants in this program. Parents and siblings have opportunities to learn and grow from their new friends as well. This is the perfect opportunity to swap valuable information like recommendations for good doctors, tips for success in school, and other great resources. Family members bond over shared stories and find comfort and strength in knowing someone else is going through the same things. We hope you come out to our next Open Play; we can’t wait to be your new  friend!

Open Play is the 4th Saturday of each month from 10-11:30AM. We hope to get our EPIC Adult Participants involved in the program by selling coffee, their mugs, and other items of their choosing.
