Francesca’s At HOME LIVE Experience

Francesca, in my opinion, has given her “Best of All” from the day she was born, although I suppose that is a story for another time, so how could we expect anything less from ourselves? All of Francesca’s in-home therapists stopped seeing her in March while they figured out teletherapy. I was so worried that she would stop making progress because I struggled with new ideas on how to get her to do all the wonderful things that her therapists were working with her on.

In the meantime, I saw a post from GiGi’s on Facebook announcing their online programming and decided to give it a shot. The first class we tried was LMNOP and Francesca loved it! It was almost exactly what she was already practicing. Francesca loves music, so of course we had to try that! This is by far our favorite class.

We participate at least once a week, but often twice because it’s just that fun. Even my 6 year old jumps in. Francesca’s language has exploded, and I give credit to that music class. Her speech therapist has even commented about how much more “talking” she has been doing lately. On a side note…Francesca had a dentist appointment a few days ago and was fussing about having her teeth looked at. I started singing one of the songs from class: “…let’s sing a silly song, come on and sing along. Sing AAAAAAAAAAAAAH. AAAH AAAH AAAH….” You get the picture. Needless to say, her mouth was open so wide singing that the dentist had no trouble looking in!

I feel like I could go on and on about how wonderful all these programs are. I had no idea what we were missing by not having a local GiGi’s Playhouse. Now we are even more excited to help bring one to Denver after experiencing all the fantastic classes other sites are providing. Gigi’s Playhouse At Home Programming has been an incredible resource for us during this time of quarantine. Which is probably the biggest understatement of the year. However, we are so thankful that we have had access to this during this time. The classes have added new ideas to my parenting/therapist toolbox, helped give routine to our endless days at home, and provided fun and engaging therapy to a little girl who desperately needs it. So, thank you to you and to all the other people that are diligently working to provide services and new Playhouses to areas that are going to benefit from them. We can hardly wait until Denver opens and we can participate in person. Francesca and her whole family are so grateful for all the love, hard work and dedication being poured out. Thank you!”
