#BestofAll and Exciting August Programs

July was another fabulous month at the Playhouse as we watched participants come and give their #BestofAll during programming!  Please keep in mind as you read below, our summer programming and summer schedule will be wrapping up mid-August as we prep for back to school.  Sign-ups for our enrollment-based programs and tutoring will be open at the end of August.  We hope to have our Fall program calendar updated by the end of August too!

It’s hard to choose only one GiGi Kitchen adult for this month’s #bestofall as our entire group is AWESOME!  This new program to the Deerfield Playhouse has 5 fun-loving adults who have learned about nutrition, food safety and basic kitchen skills.  We are so proud of their commitment to learning a new recipe each week and the guidance of the program leaders Diane, Sue and Edi.   

GiGi’s Playhouse Deerfield: August Programs Overview 

This summer at GiGi’s Playhouse Deerfield has been nothing short of exciting! Our Playhouse has been buzzing with energy as participants of all ages have come together to learn, grow, and have fun. A special shoutout to the Varsity Lake Forest HS cheerleaders, who led a 4-week cheer clinic. With boys and girls ranging from ages 6 to 18 diving into this high-energy, engaging program, it’s been a whirlwind of activity and enthusiasm. As we gear up for August, take a moment to check out our upcoming schedule and see what’s in store for another month of incredible fun and learning!  

Friends, Fun and Fitness Program: Thursday at 3pm 

Led by Ms. Suzanne, the Friends, Fun and Fitness program is a fantastic opportunity for ages 10-17 to get moving with cardio drumming. With sessions running until August 15, there’s plenty of time to join in, stay fit, and have a blast with friends.  Bring your energy and your water bottle-this is a high energy program!  

GiGiFIT Adult Program: Started July 11 at 4:30pm 

GiGiFIT Adult, led by local personal trainer Ben of Beans Fitness, is well underway!  While we have offered a condensed version of the program this summer, we will have the full GiGiFIT adult program scheduled for the fall.  Please stay tuned on the time and date!  

Fantastic Friends Program: For Adults Ages 18+ 

Our Fantastic Friends program is new to the Playhouse and continues to grow each month, offering adults ages 18 and above a chance to connect.  Our August event is an ice cream social per the request of our Adults.  Please sign up on the calendar so we can make sure we have the perfect amount of yummy ice cream toppings!  

Monthly Special Programming: Art, Baking, and Music 

GiGi’s Playhouse Deerfield also offers exciting monthly programs that are not to be missed: 

• Art Explosion: August 8 at 5:15pm for kids and 6:30pm for teens. 

• Cooking Club with Ms. Maggie: August 13 at 2pm, open to ages 6 and up. 

• Music Makers (Mommy and Me, Music and Movement): August 14 at 3pm for ages 0-5.  

These sessions provide creative outlets and opportunities for participants to bond through art, baking, and music in a supportive and inclusive environment. Please help our amazing volunteers plan accordingly by enrolling on our calendar or by emailing, we want to be sure to have enough supplies for all to have the best time!
