Fantastic leaders for our EPIC Program!

Meet Our New Program Leaders!

We have 3 great young women leading our new EPIC program for adults. They have worked hard making plans for the participants and we know they will really have a positive impact on the lives of our adults with Down syndrome. Christina, Julie, and Paige all have been a part of GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago for a while now and we’re excited to see them take on leadership roles. EPIC meets on the 4th Sunday of each month. The next session is this Sunday, February 24th and they are meeting off site at Milt’s BBQ for the Perplexed. Check out the calendar for more information and to RSVP!

Christina Hovatter

Christiana graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago and plans to further her education by obtaining a masters degree in Occupational Therapy. She currently works as a Vocational Coordinator  at Urban Autism Solutions; and her background in vocational skills will really be an asset to our new adult program. Christina has been a volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse in Chicago for 2 years mainly in our therapeutic based programs.

Julie Choate

Julie has been a long time volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse in Chicago. She has been a tutor for over 2 years and is quick to volunteer to help at some of our big events. Her husband Mark has a brother with Down syndrome so this population is close to her heart. Julie has a degree from Michigan State University and currently works as an equity research associate. She is really invested in our programs and we know she’ll help EPIC take off and be a great success!

Paige Graham

Paige graduated from Ohio State University and intends to work toward a Masters or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. She is currently a therapy aid at Misericordia Heart of Mercy and has been a long time tutor at our playhouse. Paige has a knack of becoming fast friends with anyone she meets. She and her student, Mila’s, mom swap books and other personal recommendations on a regular basis. Paige is a cheerful and kind person and I know all the participants in EPIC will love working with her as the program takes off.
