This week at GiGi’s Chicago

Upcoming Schedule of Events
(Chicago Style)
Good Morning, GiGi’s Chicago.Thank you to everyone who came out for our 4th annual Game Night. It was a great event, and easily our most successful Game Night ever! Thanks everyone for your support and good cheer. In the spirit of thanks, there are several people and organizations we’d like to thank for helping us bring the event together. First, a big thank you to Margaret Reynolds and Belle Plaine Studio for donating the space. Thanks also go to Entertainment Cruises, Bad Dog Tavern and Beer Bistro for donating the food. And for our silent auction prizes, a thank you to the Chicago Cubs (for the signed Mike Quade jersey) and Mark Lundgren (who donated the Cubs tickets and the White Sox scout seats). And also, we’d like to thank all of the people and organizations who donated prizes for our raffle. They’re too numerous to mention here, but we’re eternally grateful.

Finally, we’d like to thank Bob and LeAnn Foster for working so hard on the event. And finally, we couldn’t have pulled off the event without the help of One Brick, who provided volunteers.

Also, congratulations to all our tournament winners. Jenga, Baggo, Connect 4 and Wii Golf have never been so competitive.

Playhouse Renovations

With the Spring Session ending this week, the Playhouse will be closed for the next two weeks (May 28 – June 12) for some renovations. Comcast is working a generous donation of materials and volunteers to help make the playhouse be all it can be. We’re excited about the work that’s being done. We’ll share more about it with you next week.

Also, don’t forget to turn in your literacy applications by May 31 for the summer session.

Don’t Forget: 5KThe GiGi’s Playhouse Chicagoland 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk is fast approaching. (Sunday, June 12 at the Arboretum of South Barrington.) So you won’t feel lonely or intimidated, we’ve set up a Chicago team. Just select “Chicago Playhouse” under Team Affiliation on the registration page.

From there, you can set up your own fundraising page, soliciting support and donations from friends and family around the country (and world, if you’re that spread out). The money you raise from this event comes back to the Playhouse to support our operations and programming.

Can’t make it out to the ‘burbs, or don’t feel like running? You can also show your support by making a straight donation to the team. Head over to the registration page, click the “Donate to a Friend or Team” button, and either search or scroll to the Chicago Playhouse team. Then just click the “Sponsor” link.

We hope to see you there!
