Thank you Megan, Kate and Hannah!

If you have been to the Playhouse this summer, you have most certainty seen our incredible Rush University occupational therapy student interns, Megan, Kate, and Hannah working hard with our Playhouse participants! For the last 14 weeks, they have been busy completing their doctoral capstone projects for graduation.

  • Megan has been working with 7 incredible adult interns with Down syndrome focusing on self determination and self advocacy in the work place along with building important career development skills.
  • Kate has been getting creative with our adult participants and has been running a small Art Explosion program creating beautiful creations such as pressed flower bookmarks, handmade beads and jewelry for the Playhouse to sell at our local farmers markets.
  • Hannah has been getting active while running a 1-on-1 parent and child yoga program with 9 Playhouse families introducing and practicing the importance of mindfulness, moving your body and meditation.

We can not thank these lovely ladies enough for all their dedication and support to our Playhouse participants and families this summer! We will miss you but wish you the best on your future occupational therapy endeavors!
