GiGi’s Playhouse National Leadership Conference

Who loves GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago?  Who is proud of all we’ve accomplished this year?  We are!

During the first week of November, the leadership team at GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago attended the GiGi’s Playhouse National Leadership Conference, where teams from 57  Playhouses throughout the U.S. and Mexico gathered for education, networking, and celebration.

This year Sam R., a Playhouse Self-Advocate, Intern, and Programs Committee member, joined the GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago staff and board members for a day of learning and celebration.  Sam was our awards man, running up on stage to receive each of our 7—yes, SEVEN—Standards of Execution Certificates. Every year, our team meets with the National Playhouse team to review our goals, progress, and aspirations for the future against the Standards of Execution.

This year, GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago was recognized as STRONG in the areas of Programs, Financial Health, Donation Processing and Data Management, HR and Volunteer Management, Marketing, and Operations and Facility. Our team was also excited to be recognized as the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE for Board Health and Strategy.

Our hard work did not go unnoticed. GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago was recognized as a leader amongst its peers, being 1 of only 5 Playhouses to be presented with the “SOE Champion Award.”  This means GiGi’s Chicago achieved a rating of “strong” or “center of excellence” for every one of the seven areas of business operations (“Standards of Execution”).  Woo hoo!

From new marketing techniques, program rollouts, and events and fundraising tips, we can’t wait to take all we learned as a team and bring it to life this new year at the Chicago Playhouse!
