Fall Session Notes
As we work our way into winter, it’s time to update everyone on a few notes for our Fall Session (as well as our upcoming Winter Programming).The Fall Session of Literacy Tutoring ends on November 19th, and we”ll be takin

g the rest of the holiday season off. (It’s crazy enough as it is.) The Winter Session will begin the week of January 16.Our Fall Session of Little Fingers/Busy Hands will continue until December 7 (though there are no classes on Nov. 21, owing to the Thanksgiving week). The Winter Session will begin the week of Jan. 23.

And our Teen Drama Class will continue through December 18, when the class will showcase their work for our Holiday Pageant and Party at Stage 773 (time: 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.). Their extended

Winter/Spring session will begin in January as well.If you’re interested in continuing (or beginning) enrollment in one of these programs for the Winter, e-mail us for an application. Note: currently enrolled students must re-enroll.

Wine on Wednesdays

Tonight, Michael Diversey’s Tavern (at 670 W. Diversey) is ho

lding a Wine Tasting Benefit for our Teen Drama Class. For $20, you get to taste fantastic wines (that will be available for sale at a reduced price), appetizers and support a great cause. If you’re planning on coming, e-mail Jack (jack@mdtavern.com) so he can get a headcount.

Also, next Wednesday, is a Mom’s Night Out, giving all moms a chance to share parenting tales, tricks and tools for raising a kid with Down syndrome. Come to Mrs. Murphy’s & Sons Irish Bistro (3905 N. Lincoln, just down the street from the Playhouse) from 7 – 9 p.m. RSVP’s appreciated, though not required.

Time To Play Dress Up 

Speaking of our Teen Drama Class, the students are hard at work on their winter holiday pageant (coming Dec. 18, mark your calendars). And they’re starting to think about costumes.

If you have access to any of the following (or are willing to donate them), the teen thespians (and their program leaders) would be eternally grateful:
  • Elf hats/jackets
  • Santa coat
  • Santa hats
  • Red clown noses
  • Reindeer antlers
  • Jingle bells
  • Green gloves
  • Green felt
  • Fairy Wings
  • Tutus
