Planting Seeds of Change: 6 Years of GiGi’s Playhouse Canton
Today, we celebrate 6 years of GiGi’s Playhouse Canton. Last week, we had the privilege of having FirstEnergy Corp. Green Team volunteers join us in generously planting 6 trees through their Community Tree Program as an homage to the work being done in our community.
As part of FirstEnergy’s commitment to building a more sustainable future, volunteers planted young trees around our Playhouse – a gift that goes far beyond beautifying the landscape. Each tree represents something deeper: the hope we plant in every individual who walks through our doors, the strength we build with every program, and the lasting impact we make together, season after season, year after year.

For six years, GiGi’s Playhouse Canton has been rooted in a powerful purpose: to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all. We deliver this through our lifetime commitment to changing lives and providing hope through the delivery of free educational, therapeutic, and career development programs that help individuals with Down syndrome thrive, at no cost to their families.
Just like the trees planted will grow and flourish, so too will our impact – branching out into schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods, changing perceptions (and hearts) along the way. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. It’s not just about the environment or maintaining programs, it’s also about nurturing a culture where acceptance grows stronger with every generation.
Will you grow with us?
