Meet Teen Tastic Leader Bianca

My name is Bianca. I am a leader of the Teen Tastic program at GiGi’s Playhouse Tinley Park, and PASSION is what brought me here. I have always had a passion for helping others, especially those with disabilities. But for me, it’s more about seeing the ABILITIES, rather than the misconstrued dis-abilities. Individuals with Down syndrome have always been dear to my heart, because of everything that society doesn’t speak on…the loving, funny, & radiating vibes. While there’s so much I can write/talk about when it comes to being a volunteer and leader at GiGi’s Playhouse Tinley Park, the one thing that I am most grateful for is that GiGi’s has inspired me to follow my “calling” and pursue my current path towards becoming an Occupational Therapist. I look forward to learning, growing, inspiring & being inspired as I continue leading this wonderful group of teens!

This picture is one of my favorites, as it was captured by our very own participant, Matt.

Our Teen Tastic Program meets once a month on a Saturday. Check our online calendar for the next meeting date. Our group focuses on building social skills by having our friends with Down syndrome participate in team-based activities in a casual and fun setting. Skill development includes understanding compromise, turn-taking and problem-solving abilities.

Bianca, thank you for all that you do at our Playhouse!
