Meet One of Our LMNOP Leaders…Amara!

Volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse has been nothing short of fulfilling. I was searching for opportunities to volunteer in the area, and came across GiGi’s online. I have worked with children with special needs in the past, and I desire to assist children with communication deficits as a future career. As a graduate student studying speech-language pathology, I knew it was a perfect fit. After shadowing the program leader for the LMNOP program a few times, I found the courage to lead it on my own. It has been a joy to implement the program while adding my own creative twist. Becoming a program leader has given me the opportunity to exercise leadership, amongst other skills. Best of all, being a program leader is a fun and exciting way to foster learning development and make a difference in the community.
